TVCC Flight School: New Student Orientation
Description
Flight School: TVCC's New Student Orientation is designed to prepare students (and their families) for their academic careers. Scheduled sessions are designed to focus on a variety of academic and social needs, such as using advisement and registration resources as well as new student interaction with faculty, staff, orientation leaders, and other incoming students. Sessions are provided to give new students information and support in areas such as financial aid, housing, campus safety/police, MyCardinalConnect portal access and features, bookstore, campus tours, student health and wellness, student life, and more! Join us for a fun and enriching event, focusing on the entire Cardinal Family!
Session Dates:
- Regular Session: Thursday, July 9th, 9:00 am-2:30 pm (8:30 am check in)
- Regular Session: Saturday, July 25th, 9:00 am-2:30 pm (8:30 am check in)
- Mini Session: Friday, August 21nd, 9:00 am-12:30 pm (8:30 am check in)

Questions & Answers
- Is orientation mandatory?
We require all new students to attend orientation.
- Can I bring guests?
Yes! Family and friends are more than welcome. Guests will go on a separate orientation experience than students. There is no additional cost for guests.
- Does orientation cost money to attend?
No, but registering ahead allows us to plan for t-shirt sizes, meal numbers, and if any special accommodations need to be made.
- Will there be orientation sessions on campuses other than the Athens campus?
As of now, no. But TVCC students are required to attend orientation, regardless of which campus they will be attending.
- What if I can't make it to any of the scheduled orientation days?
We suggest you schedule a tour of the campus you are attending and reach out to advising, financial aid, and IT to ensure that you are fully prepared to start your journey as a TVCC student.
